I think this is my last post from the Trolley Square shopping area.
I LOVE Weller Book Works.
Weller Book Works is a decent-sized bookstore in Salt Lake City with both new and used books. They also buy back some used books for store trade credit (my favorite) so I'm now a frequent shopper.
=]
WBW is one of those bookstores, with the book-y smell and unique atmosphere you can get lost in for hours while your poor husband thumbs through the same automotive books over and over again.
Also, they have a sliding ladder going across a floor-to-ceiling wall of books! I love it so much! Ryan even agreed to spot me recently and slide the ladder for me, but only if I held on with both hands and climbed no higher than the second wrung... you know, for the baby's sake.
I felt like Belle. It was totally glorious.
The smell in bookstores is the best!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?! I'm going to melt dust and ink into wax and sell a Bookstore candle, I think. =P
DeleteNow that's a beautiful bookstore!
ReplyDeleteWhenever you make your way to Georgia, check out The Book Nook in Marietta. There are two other locations, but we've only been to the Marietta one. Richie and I can browse in their for hours. And we love the trade-in credit program! He buys more books than I do (I can't justify buying when I work in a library), so it's nice to save a bit. :)
I've added it to my list! =]
DeleteI am definitely a big library promoter, but since I'm an Arizona resident I'm not able to take advantage of libraries because of the way we live!
For now, trade credit programs it is!
I LOVE bookstores. I'm planning on going to one here (just a Barnes and Noble) today or tomorrow and I am PUMPED. :)
ReplyDeleteI always feel that way! Buying books and office supplies are two of my favorite weird, nerdy shopping trips. =]
DeleteI am pretty certain this book store was Heaven to you! I love the smell of bookstores. I was at the library today and the books smelled so pleasant. (Okay, that was kinda' weird). I love the set up of the store. You would love the local family-owned book store in my town. It's kind of small but amazing. The guy also has several cats and rabbits running out -- too cool. The owner is going to close the store soon due to the economy. He has been there for at least 35+ years. Maybe if you are ever in South FL (way, way south) you can stop by if he is still in business. It's called Paper Back Exchange is North Miami Beach. <3
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite used bookstores in Prescott, Arizona goes by the same name!
DeleteIt's too bad so many great bookstores seem to be closing down. Unfortunately though, I think the popularity of eBooks will make even an economy boost worthless for small-town booksellers! =[
I love ladders like that! I'd so love to have a library at my house with one of them in it!
ReplyDeleteAs for book shirts, I want one, just not one of such cliche books haha
I want one that is in a bookshelf room behind a secret bookshelf door!
DeleteI agree! I actually don't think I want any of those specific ones, although I did love The Bell Jar.
I love discovering old out-of-print books in stores like these. Give me a cup of coffee and I can browse for hours.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds GLORIOUS!
